World renowned textile designer Laduma Ngxokolo has lent his skills to the creation of a unique and exclusive Maxhosa tapestry rug, the design of which was inspired by his limited-edition heritage collaboration with Tastic earlier this year. The collaboration was built across the principles of education as a key focus for the MaXhosa brand, and giving back being a brand principle for Tastic. The Ubuntu Rug is tufted with 100% wool. The fibre is dyed with colors that are traditionally Xhosa inspired.
Through this collaboration #TasticXLadumaeducational fund was born and driven by the need to support students across South Africa by giving them access to higher education and paving the way for future leaders. Laduma will be hosting an auction for this rug of which The public is invited to make a pledge towards the fund by donating a financial seed. Which has officially gone live as of today till 9thDecember 2020.
