They’ve been a fan-favourite from the very start of the season but this week, #TeamPineapple (Ntando Duma and Siphosethu Colo) found themselves being the fourth team eliminated from this season of Tropika Island of Treasure Curaçao. They leave #TeamCoolRed (Nadia Jaftha and Trevor Lagerway) and #TeamMangoPeach (Siphesihle Vazi and Darren Solomon) to battle it out in the grand finale for that shared R1 million grand prize. Now, Siphosethu Colo opens up about his Tropika Island of Treasure experience:
Your Team Pineapple team mate was Ntando. What was she like as a partner?
I couldn’t have asked for a better team mate! There was an instant chemistry between us during our “speed date” session at the beginning of the show and from there I could see us being a solid team. We each brought different strengths to the competition and we gave it our best until the very end.
What was the toughest thing you experienced during your time on the show?
The challenges! Every single challenge, while so much fun, was tough in varying ways. That said, my favourite challenge had to be the one Ntando and I placed first in – the blind fold challenge. This was team work at its best where I had to trust my partner entirely and follow her every instruction to lead us to a win.
What was the biggest highlight about your time on Tropika Island of Treasure Curaçao?
The people – the contestants, celebs, crew and a few islanders I had the pleasure to spend time with. Meeting everyone and sharing in this incredible experience together had to be my number one highlight.
Do you wish you had done anything differently?
I wouldn’t change a single thing. Everything happens for a reason and I played the game to the best of my ability.
What surprised you most about yourself being on Tropika Island of Treasure Curaçao?
I found new confidence and strength in myself. Even when the tank was empty I could still tap into a reserve and power through an obstacle
Curacao is a beautiful island. What was a highlight of your time there?
The flight with KLM to Curaçao was a great start to the journey. When on the island, during our day off we had the opportunity to explore the capital city, Willemstad, and got be tourists for the day. What a beautiful and interesting place!
What else can people expect from you/expect to see from you for the rest of 2020?
There’s a lot in the pipeline at the moment. I can’t reveal too much, but just know that 2020 is a MARVELOUS year. Keep an eye on my social media channels where I’ll share more…
