Hip Hop artist Fake Ano recently dropped his debut EP titled 24.

The project is a seven-track EP which includes the intro, outro and Interlude. He describes the EP as his life story up until now. More recently we got a hold of him to get to know the man behind the music and find out has the Coronavirus pandemic has affected his hustle.

How did your stage name Fake Ano come about?

I got my stage name from my first name Anotidaishe, you know how people’s handles during the start of social media were the real this and the reality that but no one is ever showing the real them out there so they are actually being fake and I’m therefore being real by calling myself fake.

Who are some of your earlier musical influences?

My music influences range from rock artists like Foals and Linking Park to hip hop Artists like Tyler The Creator and Jay Z to African legends like Oliver Mutukudzi and Alick Macheso

You recently dropped your debut EP, has the recent shut down disrupted your plans?

Yes, it has, was meant to go on tour from launch date till mid of April and all of that has been put on hold.

What would you say to fellow musicians who are facing the same predicament?

I think fellow musicians should see this as an opportunity to sharpen their craft, work in new music and developing ideas, just hang in there and we’ll come out better.

Since you won’t be performing in public until further notice, what other ways do you have planned to connect with your fans?

I am going to release live versions of the sets we were planning to perform during the tour on my different social media platforms and some lyric videos till it is safe enough to go out and shoot at different locations.
